How
far will USRider tow?
The program provides for up to 100 miles of free towing for your tow vehicle and/or horse trailer ($400 max. per incident) to the destination of your choice by an authorized tow truck. If a second tow vehicle is required, USRider will provide a second identical towing benefit.
How
does the up to $200 road service benefit work?
At USRider, we handle each disablement involving a tow vehicle and horse trailer as if it were an 18-wheeler. In many cases, it is better not to tow – especially with horses on board. In the event that your vehicle becomes disabled when you are trailering horses, if it is possible for us to facilitate a roadside repair and avoid towing, we'll pay a service benefit of up to $200 per incident – excluding parts and fluids. In the event the repairs are unsuccessful and towing is still required for this disablement, the cost of repairs (up to $200) is deducted from the towing benefit.
How
many disablements am I allowed each year?
We do not set specific limits. However, in order to maintain fair
and reasonable membership dues for all Members, we review all
unusual frequency of claims based on average Member claims. Usage
of services that we consider excessive may result in limitations
of the number of claims allowed, non-renewal, or cancellation
of membership. Excessive use of the plan usually indicates a vehicle
in need of maintenance or repair.

Does
USRider have coverage in my area?
Yes. USRider is administered by Nation Motor Club Inc., DBA Nation Safe Drivers, one of America's oldest motor plan providers chartered in the 1920s. What
if my friend is driving my truck and trailer?
This situation would not be eligible for coverage under your membership. The person driving your truck would need a USRider Membership to be covered when you are not present. At USRider, we cover our Members in any non-commercial vehicle they are traveling in, even if they are not driving, but the Member must be present for coverage to be applicable.
I occasionally
haul my friend's horse. Am I covered?
Yes. We will provide roadside assistance no matter the ownership
of horses as long as our Member is present. However, USRider has
been especially created for the owner and their Horse(s). USRider
coverage is not applicable for commercial carriers or haul for
hire.

No. USRider membership is designed for the Members and their Horses.
Our Members are covered in any vehicle they are traveling in;
however, they must be present for coverage to be applicable.

Can
I add my spouse or child at a discounted rate?

How
do you define an Associate Member?
An Associate Member is your spouse or domestic partner who is a resident

the "Member," is considered a full-time student at
an accredited college or university, and is 25 years of age or
younger.
What
is the difference between a Primary and an Associate membership?
There is no difference in coverage. An Associate Member enjoys
all the same valuable USRider benefits and coverage as Individual/Primary
Members – at a reduced rate!

vehicle
or trailer.

you tow a loaded horse trailer?
Yes, we will tow your trailer with your Horse(s) in it, unless
it can no longer be used to safely transport your animal(s). In
that instance, we will locate alternate transportation for your
Horse(s).
Does
USRider cover me only when I am towing my horse trailer?
We cover you in any non-commercial vehicle you
are in, regardless of whether you are towing a horse trailer – or
whether you are driving. Our Members only need to be present in the vehicle at the time of disablement for coverage to be applicable.

I
just purchased a new horse trailer. Do you need the make and model?
Congratulations on your new acquisition! You do not need to contact
us, as we do not keep track of tow vehicles and/or horse trailers.
We cover you in any non-commercial vehicle you are traveling in,
even if you are not driving - you only need be present. However,
when you do purchase a new trailer, we'd be happy to supply
you with some new trailer safety decals upon request.
Must
I disconnect the trailer for service?
Disconnecting a trailer from a tow vehicle with animals should
only be done as a last resort. As you can imagine, each situation
is different. We prefer to attempt a repair and avoid towing when
possible - especially when animals are aboard. When towing is
the only course, we have had great success towing a truck and trailer
in tandem to a place of safety where a repair can be made, and/or
other options can be explored. Our primary concern is getting
you and your Horse(s) off the highway and to a place of safety.
Do
your service personnel have experience with horses?
No. Providing service to all of North America makes it impossible
for us to utilize only personnel that are experienced with horses. However, our Member Care Specialists are specially
trained and our service personnel are experienced in automobile
service, towing and recovery.
How
long does it take for help to arrive after I call USRider?
The motor plan industry standard is one hour for response and
while each disablement has its own unique set of circumstances, we consistently beat that time with many responses in as little as
20 minutes. However, in the unusual event that you can get someone
else to reach you more quickly, we'll reimburse you or gladly issue
a purchase order so you can sign and drive.
What
kind of service vehicle will you send out?
Our Member Care Specialist will inquire about the nature of your
disablement and the type of vehicle you are calling about and
dispatch a service vehicle capable of the services needed.
What
if USRider cannot locate a service provider to help me?
In rare cases, our Members are able to obtain service before our Call Center can locate an available service provider. In those cases, our Members pay for the service, mail within 30 days an original receipt (which is in the Member's name) marked paid, and we will reimburse their expenses up to the benefit limit.
What
if I cannot be with my vehicle?
For several reasons, including security and liability purposes, our Membership Agreement specifies that the Member must be present when service is rendered.
Can
I call ahead for service?
Regretfully, we do not permit advanced reservations
for service. When you are ready for service, simply dial the emergency
number on the back of your card and we will be pleased to assist
you.
I'm
a trainer and haul horses for clients. Am I covered?
Regretfully, this situation would be considered commercial, or
haul for hire, and is not currently covered under our plan.
At
my boarding operation, we use our trailer to haul clients'
horses. Is this covered?
No. This is considered commercial use in view of the fact that you are using USRider in connection with a business.
Why does USRider exclude business, commercial and professional use?
USRider was created for the personal use of our Members and their Horses.
My
vehicle has commercial license plates. Do I qualify for USRider
membership?
Yes, our commercial restrictions pertain to the actual use of
the vehicle.
How do you define professional use?
We do not follow guidelines set forth by many of the equine groups and associations. As it relates to our program, we believe professional use means hauling horses in connection with a business and/or deriving income from such activities.
Will
USRider replace my existing auto insurance?
No. USRider does not serve as automobile insurance. USRider is
a motor plan that provides emergency roadside assistance and other
equine travel benefits. (For a list of benefits, see the Member
Benefits area of this website.)
Will
my current motor plan assist me when towing my horse trailer?

for animals being towed in trailers. However, we recommend that
you contact your current motor plan to inquire about their coverage, or review their service contract.
My
current motor plan doesn't cover horses, but I trust them.
Why should I switch?
We are in our twelfth year of operation, and we handle thousands of disablements annually with great precision. Moreover, we have attained one of the highest member satisfaction ratings in the motor plan industry. USRider is a motor plan created for Horse owners by people who own and love horses.

horses with such a wide range of values and uses.

limits. In rare instances, a service provider may require payment
on the scene. In those cases, the Member simply mails a copy of
the paid bill for reimbursement.

Do
you provide trip planning?
No. However, when you have an emergency we will arrange emergency
stabling. USRider Members receive a 20 percent discount on the
highly regarded Nationwide Overnight Stabling Directory. More information about this benefit
can be found in the Winner's Circle Advantage program. Visit
